Olympics #paris2024

Urban youth games

On the occasion of the Olympic Games, and the Génération24 springboards which bring together the whole of France and the French-speaking world, Gaspard Herblot, in collaboration with Marc Bogaerts, has written a two-part piece for the Flagey Academy children's choir, directed by conductor Zeno Popescu.

On stage, the Flagey Academy, divided into two groups, guides the two sections of the audience facing them. The composition is an original creation, blending simple, universal onomatopoeia, English gestures and expressions from Olympic sports practices, and a choreography to tie it all together, called the Haka.

MC Airblow opened the stage to introduce the political speeches by the Minister of Sport and the event organizers. As Host, Gaspard also directed the audience and the Flagey Academy choir. To conclude this afternoon of performance, our MC also revealed to the public a brand new rap written in English for the occasion and led the crowd in a participative Beatbox with extracts from the Let's Sing Together show.

2000 young Belgian-French people were thus welcomed to the opening ceremony of the Urban Youth Games Paris Seine-Saint-Denis, Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This Haka, which brought the Academy and the crowd together, will now be touring the world with Marc Bogaerts' team in collaboration with G. Herblot, uniting youth audiences at major events.

Check out the images and videos from this large-scale, unifying and musical event. Join the crowd!
