Passion Singulière
Today, it's essential for the public to feel close to places of culture and the arts. That's why "Passions singulières" is offering different ways of participating in this creation. Firstly, the booklet will be based on texts from meetings between local residents and the writing duo Fanny Chiarello and Jean-Marc Flahaut.
Then, through the composition of graphic scores, young people from social centers and students from local art schools can give musical substance to the natural landscapes of the coalfield.
Finally, the collective dimension of this project will be most perceptible through the participation of an amateur adult choir, a school-based teenage choir and a group of slammer-writers composed for the occasion.
On stage, a pared-down scenography will give way to the singers' bodies, while an aerial lighting scheme will give relief to an open space where spectators will be immersed in a delightful bath of sound.
Composed by Antony Sauveplane, this participatory cantata gives a different vision of the coalfield and highlights our landscape and cultural heritage, thanks to the involvement of young audiences and amateurs throughout the creative process.
Featuring the Septentrion chamber choir and beat-boxer Gaspard Herblot, a children's choir, amateur choirs and the Déblocs theater troupe, this creation plunges you into the world of the voice in all its forms and nuances.
Gaspard Herblot instilled the practice of human beatbox and body percussion into the project. Thanks to the beatboxer's tools and methods, the final pieces shown to the public will have been transformed to incorporate his beatbox and percussive rhythms. Developed during participatory workshops, then directed by Antony Sauvepolane and performed live by G. Herblot and the two orchestra choirs.
We invite you to discover a unique blend of slam, contemporary aesthetics, popular music and electro-acoustic experimentation.
