A fourth edition, between Dakar and Saint-Louis:
Cie AirBlow had the pleasure of taking part in the first two editions: human beatbox training and creative workshops, human beatbox showcase, performance of excerpts from Détours de Voix with Gaspard Herblot, Yassin Payne and Younes Ayoute.
It was an opportunity for the company to help train young people in beat box techniques and promote the development of urban culture in Senegal through Beat Box, by creating a dynamic between local and foreign players.
This year, Gaspard Herblot helped set up the second human beatbox championship, for which he is also a guest judge.
Our participation in the event and related activities:
26/11: Press conference at the Maison des Cultures de Urbaines in Dakar (MCU)
27-28/11: Beatbox training + soundtrack recordings with local artists' sets
29/11: presentation of the work of Marc Bizzini and Gaspard (Tarkovski & Airblow set). Training led by FootboxG: New School beatbox technique (MCU)
30/11: Presentation of stage creations by local artistic groups led by Marc and Gaspard. Showcase of artist FootboxG in the city of St Louis.

Second edition @ MCU DAKAR
On the strength of this experience, Cie AirBlow is repeating the experience and taking part in the second edition of the festival. The project: to raise awareness, exchange ideas and develop know-how through workshops and coaching, and to promote the company's activities and proposals.
In a quest for ever-richer encounters and exchanges, Gaspard Herblot was accompanied by two dancers, Yassin Payne and Younes Ayoute. This second edition was an opportunity to consolidate links and coaching work with beatboxers met the previous year, as well as to begin coaching work with emerging beatboxers.
First edition @ MCU DAKAR
JOLOF BEAT BOX, supported by STYLE PROD, is an event created to develop and promote beat box in Senegal. On the strength of their past experience and participation in international exchanges with artists from the international scene at Tandem Paris Dakar and Festa 2 H, STYLE PROD decided to organize a unifying event with the ambition of creating cultural and social cohesion, as well as, in a few years' time, creating the first national beat box competition in Senegal.
Cie AirBlow therefore had the honor and pleasure of being invited to take part in the first edition of the festival, held from December 1 to 6, 2021 at Dakar's Maison des Cultures Urbaines.
Company program and missions; Develop training programs:
Provide technical tools enabling them to express their musical culture via the technical tools of beatboxing;
Transmit a work methodology so that they are autonomous in their technical development and give references to other international beatboxing communities.
Give pedagogical tools to make them autonomous in leading workshops with young audiences.
Initiation to the operation of the loop station: explanations of how the machine works.
Study of composition strategies.
Training took place on December 2 and 3, followed by rehearsals for the December 4 performances.
